What America Needs

January 17, 2009

With the current financial crisis most would assume what we need is a economic fix from the government, what we actually need is much, much bigger. What America needs is a leader. We need a Thomas Paine to remind us of our reasons for being free, to challenge tyranny and to inspire us. We need a Martin Luther King Jr. to walk with us in protest against the injustices perpetrated across this country. We need a person who rejects the notion that the government ought to run our lives, that the government ought to take our money to fight wars we object to, and that the government is the answer to every problem, we know that it is absolutely not.

We must not look to government to solve our problems. Government is the problem.” – Ronald Reagan

let me be clear, Barack Obama is not the leader we need. This man is not about change. Sure, he voted against the Iraq War, but he voted for the bailouts, for the patriot act, for the FISA legislation, for more intervention in Afghanistan, and is on his way (even before he has been sworn in) to spend his way out of this recession, the same attitudes and policies that prolonged the great depression. At the end of the day a true leader does not waiver on issues, does not say he is for certain things and votes the other way, a true leader leads the way, being the first to act.

Disclaimer:  I am not saying this because I am just "an angry Republican". I have never supported the current Republican platform, and I have never supported Bush, so don't even go there.

Reagan is half the reason we are in this mess. Please tell me you didn’t just quote Reagan.

And disclaimer. I am not saying this as an angry liberal. It is just a fact.

Well actually that is not a fact. He is not half the reason why we are in this mess, so please don’t come here spewing those partisan one-liners. Half the reason we are in this mess happened in 1913, I wonder if you know what happened then. The other half of the reason is because nobody did anything about what happened in 1913, and the Congress has been on a spending spree, especially now since they are hoping to spend their way out of this mess.

I have to amuse myself sometimes. Seriously.

Plus it is sort of true. Dems want to blame it all on Bush, when it was not Bush, it was the system that has been in place since 1913, and the creation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and government programs to promote “owning a house”, that was partly bushes fault.

Research “Fractional reserve banking”, The Federal Reserve, and how the federal reserve manipulates the market to create these bubbles.

Oh by the way, it snowed like an inch here.

You get em’ Jon, I agree with the fact that Barrack Obama is not the man we need to lead our country
